300 BLACKOUT

The .300 AAC Blackout is a versatile rifle cartridge designed to fire heavy, quiet subsonic rounds or faster, powerful supersonic rounds out of short-barreled AR-15 firearms.

Key Specifications
Parent Case: Created by modifying a standard .223 Remington case.
Compatibility: Fits into regular 5.56mm NATO magazines and uses the same rifle bolt. Only the rifle barrel needs to change.
Ideal Barrel Length: Works best in short barrels measuring 9 to 10.5 inches because the powder burns completely in that short distance.
Bullet Weight: Ranges from 110 grains for fast loads up to 220 grains for heavy loads.
Subsonic vs. Supersonic AmmoSubsonic (Slow): Travels slower than the speed of sound (under 1,100 feet per second). It stays very quiet when paired with a suppressor (silencer).
Supersonic (Fast): Travels faster than sound. It carries more energy and reaches farther downrange, but it is louder.

Common Uses
Home Defense: Short barrels make the rifle easy to move in tight indoor spaces.
Hunting: Supersonic rounds work well for hunting medium-sized animals like hogs and deer.
Quiet Shooting: Subsonic rounds with a suppressor reduce noise for recreational or tactical use.
